Produzione

Il film, diretto da Phil Karlson su una sceneggiatura di Richard Schayer e un soggetto di James Fenimore Cooper (autore del romanzo), fu prodotto da Bernard Small[1] per la Edward Small Productions[2] e girato a Big Bear Lake, Big Bear Valley (San Bernardino National Forest) e nei Motion Picture Center Studios a Hollywood, in California,[3] da inizio ottobre all'inizio di novembre 1949.[4]

Distribuzione

Il film fu distribuito con il titolo The Iroquois Trail negli Stati Uniti dal 16 giugno 1950[5] al cinema dalla United Artists.[2]

The Iroquois Trail is a 1950 American Western film directed by Phil Karlson starring George Montgomery and Brenda Marshall. It is set during the French-Indian War.[2] It is an adaptation of James Fenimore Cooper's 1826 work The Last of the Mohicans, with significant alterations. As with the book, one of the major plot lines is based on the siege of Fort William Henry and the subsequent massacre.[3]
