Alan G. Parker was born in Lancashire, England on 30 April 1965 and is a British Film Director, six times EMMY nominated he also wrote a number of books about rock musicians and their lives, while contributing to various music and film magazines.

Parker is a member of Directors UK, and a fellow of the Charles Dickens society. He stopped writing books in 2009 in order to concentrate on movies. As a Director he is best known for his work on 'Hello Quo! - The Official Status Quo Story' (Anchor Bay Pictures/Studio Canal), 'Who Killed Nancy?' (Peace Arch Entertainment), 'Monty Python: Almost The Truth - The Lawyers Cut' (Eagle Entertainment) and 'It Was Fifty Years Ago Today! The Beatles; Sgt. Pepper & Beyond' (Kaleidoscope Entertainment/Studio Canal). As of June 2022[update], he was working on a big screen documentary about John Lennon's last decade titled 'Borrowed Time'.[citation needed]
Prior to becoming a filmmaker, Parker worked as a press officer (Judy Totton Publicity) and spent a number of years in the catalogue department at EMI Records in London (UK). He contributed to a number of magazines including; Record Collector, ICE magazine, Spiral Scratch, Bizarre magazine and Kerrang![1] He conducted a taped audio interview with Phil Hendriks, frontman of Lancashire punk band The Stiffs, for a bonus track on their 2001 EMI-released album Innocent Bystanders, one of many albums that Parker compiled for the label. Parker worked directly in his time at EMI Records with groups including; Buzzcocks, The Stranglers, Stiff Little Fingers and The Monty Python team. Parker recently became a director of RAG Productions Ltd.
