Early life

Bridel was born in Calgary and raised in Kitchener, Ontario. As a child, she played baseball. She heard the music for Les Misérables from a CD owned by her parents, and she became a devotee of musicals.[1] She went to high school at Eastwood Collegiate Institute, the same high school that Danny Duff, the director of Memes: A Dankumentary, attended.

Career

Bridel's debut performance was when she was eighteen at the Stratford Theatre in Ontario.[2] In 2012, Bridel finished third on the CBC's Over the Rainbow.[1][3] Bridel starred, as Lauren, in the Canadian debut of Kinky Boots at the Royal Alexandra Theatre in 2015.[1] In 2017, she played the role of Jane in A Christmas Carol.[3] That same year, she was named the new Anne in the Charlottetown Festival's Anne of Green Gables: The Musical, which is the longest running musical according to Guinness World Records.[2]

In April 2022, Bridel began starring in the voice role of Pipp Petals, in the My Little Pony franchise's made-for-YouTube 2D animated series My Little Pony: Tell Your Tale (replacing Sofia Carson who had voiced the character in the 2021 Netflix film My Little Pony: A New Generation).[4][5] In May 2022, Bridel appeared in the Netflix CGI-animated series special — My Little Pony: Make Your Mark, reprising her voice role as Pipp Petals.[6] She also reprised her role as her character Pipp Petals in the Netflix computer-animated series My Little Pony: Make Your Mark, and the CGI-animated special My Little Pony: Winter Wishday, which premiered on September 26 and in November 2022, on the streaming platform respectively.[7]
