Career


Baruah has acted in Assamese films, VCDs and movie albums. When she was in sixth grade, she made her film debut as a child actor in Axomor Sadhu Kotha as Tejimola. Since then, she has been in both highly regarded movies like Prem aaru Prem (2001) and Xoru Buari as well as mainstream movies like Jetuka Pator Dore and Kadamtole Krishna Nache.[1] Her directional venture, Dimasa language film Semkhor was the inaugural film of the 'Indian Panorama' section at the 52nd International Film Festival of India,[2] held from 20 to 28 November 2021 and received a "Special Mention". This film was awarded the "Rajat Kamal" or "Silver Lotus" for the "Best Dimasa Language Film", and "Special Jury Mention" for actress at the 68th National Film Awards. [3][4]


Personal life


Baruah was born in Nagaon in 1984. to Mala Baruah and Purna Baruah a police superintendent. Aimee Baruah married politician Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) Minister and Ex Congress man Pijush Hazarika on 1 October 2011.[5][6][7] They have two young children.[citation needed]
