Kanwar Dhillon (born 15 March 1993) is an Indian actor who primarily works in Hindi television.[3] He made his acting debut with The Buddy Project, portraying Kunal in 2012. He earned wider recognition with his portrayal of Shiva Pandya in Pandya Store. Dhillon has a Indian Television Academy Award nomination to his credit.[4]

Dhillon's first major appearance came with Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha 2, where he portrayed Aditya Vyas Bhatnagar. His other notable work include portraying Vidhaan Nayak in Do Dil Ek Jaan and Arjun Singh in Piya Rangrezz. He has also portrayed episodic roles in various shows.[5]


Early life and background


Dhillon was born on 15 March 1993 in Mumbai, Maharashtra[1][3] to Deep Dhillon and Radha Dhillon, in a Punjabi family.[6] Dhillon's father is a film and television actor, known for his work in Ghayal and Mahabharat. He has a younger brother named Karan Dhillon.[7]


Personal life


In July 2022, Dhillon revealed that he is dating his Pandya Store co-actor Alice Kaushik.[2][8]


Career



Debut and early career (2012-2014)


Dhillon made his acting debut with the television show The Buddy Project in 2012. He portrayed Kunal in the second season of the series. His first major role came in his second show,Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha in 2013. He portrayed Aditya Vyas Bhatnagar, an antagonist in the second season of the series.

In 2013, he portrayed the lead role of Vidhaan Nayak in Do Dil Ek Jaan, after the leap opposite Shritama Mukherjee. It ended in 2014. In 2014, he played Kartik in Yeh Hai Aashiqui opposite Mrinalini Tyagi and appeared in an episode of Halla Bol. He next appeared as the lead Shivprasad Mishra in Hum Hain Na from 2014 to 2015.[9][10][11]


Lead roles and further career (2015-2018)


In 2015, he played Lucky in an episode of Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya and appeared as a Guest on Killerr Karaoke Atka Toh Latkah.[12][13]

Dhillon next played the lead role of Arjun Singh in Piya Rangrezz from 2015 to 2016 and the lead role of Shiv Aggarwal in Ek Aastha Aisi Bhee in 2017. In 2017, he alongside Aakanksha Singh appeared in an episode of Aye Zindagi as Surya.

In 2018, he played for Kota Royals Rajasthan in Box Cricket League 3. He played Sangram in an episode of Laal Ishq. He portrayed Samrat Mittal in Internet Wala Love the same year.


Return to acting and success (2021-present)


Dhillon took a break from acting after Internet Wala Love. During this period he appeared in a music video Yaad Baarish Mein opposite Sonal Pradhan in 2020.

Since 2021, Dhillon made his comeback to television with Pandya Store, where he is seen as Shiva Pandya opposite Alice Kaushik.
