Kenneth David Gilman (born November 18, 1946)[3] is an American television actor.[4] He is perhaps best known for playing Dr. Hank Kaplan in the American sitcom television series Nurses.[5][6]

Born in Revere, Massachusetts.[3] Gilman began his career in 1976, first appearing in the sitcom television series Rhoda.[3] He then starred in the new CBS sitcom television series Loves Me, Loves Me Not, where he had played as Dick Phillips.[7] Gilman starred along with Susan Dey who played as Jane Benson.[7] After its cancellation, he starred with Dorothy Loudon in the new CBS sitcom television series Dorothy.[8] He guest-starred in television programs including Highway to Heaven, Who's the Boss?, Soap, Laverne & Shirley, Magnum, P.I., It's a Living, Jake and the Fatman, 'The Rockford Files, St. Elsewhere, ALF and Columbo.[3]
In his career, Gilman starred in the new CBS drama television series Jessica Novak, in which he starred along with Helen Shaver and Lara Parker. He played as Vince Halloran.[3] Gilman starred in the 1984 erotic film Bedroom Eyes, where he played as Harry Ross.[3][9] In 1986, he starred in the final season of the medical drama television series Trapper John, M.D., where he played as Dr. Jacob Christmas. His character was a replacement of Dr. George Alonzo Gates, who was played by Gregory Harrison. In 1989, Gilman starred in the new ABC drama television series Studio 5-B, in which he starred along with Kerrie Keane. He played as David Chase.[3]: 1030
In 1991, Gilman starred in the new NBC sitcom television series Nurses, where he played as Dr. Hank Kaplan.[3] He played the role until 1994. After the series ended, Gilman made a guest appearance in Caroline in the City. In 2013, he appeared in the film Parker, which starred Jason Statham and Jennifer Lopez.[10] He played as Danzinger.[10] In 2015, Gilman starred in the Off-Broadway play 2 Across along with singer and actress Andrea McArdle.[11] He played as Josh.[11]
