Laarbi Batma (or Laarbi Batma) (Arabic: العربي باطما; born in Chaouia; 1948 - 7 February 1997) was a Moroccan musician, poet, singer, author, actor, and the front man of the group Nass El Ghiwane. The leader was since the beginning the singer and bendir player, Omar Sayed.[1]
Laarbi Batma was very much influenced by the music style of the Moussems (festivals) of his native region Abda oulad El masnaoui, he used to go to as a child.[2]
Larbi Batma was the lead actor in the Moroccan movie "Al Naoura" (in French : "Le Jour du Forain"), directed by Driss Kettani and Abdelkrim Derkaoui. It was released in 1984.[3][1]
