Sayyeshaa Saigal (born 12 August 1997), known mononymously as Sayyeshaa, is an Indian actress and dancer who primarily appears in Tamil-language films.[4][5] After working in a Telugu film Akhil (2015),[6] she made her Hindi debut in Ajay Devgn's Shivaay (2016),[7][8] and her Tamil debut in the film Vanamagan (2017). She made her Kannada debut in the film Yuvarathnaa (2021).[9]

Sayyeshaa is the daughter of actors Sumeet Saigal and Shaheen Banu. She is the grandniece of actors Saira Banu[10] and Dilip Kumar.[1]


Personal life


On 10 March 2019, she married Arya (her co-star in the films Ghajinikanth, Kaappaan and Teddy), according to Muslim traditions in Hyderabad.[11][12] Their daughter Ariana was born on 23 July 2021.[13]


Career


Sayyeshaa made her debut in the cinema industry with the Telugu film Akhil (2015). She made her Bollywood debut opposite Ajay Devgn in his second directorial film Shivaay.[14] Her movie Vanamagan hit the theatres in June 2017, marking her Tamil debut.[15][16]

In 2018, she starred in Kadaikutty Singam with Karthi,[17] Junga with Vijay Sethupathi[18] and Ghajinikanth with Arya.[19] In 2019, she starred in Kaappaan alongside Suriya, Mohanlal, and Arya. She made her Kannada debut in the film Yuvarathnaa alongside Puneeth Rajkumar.[20][21][22]
