Salma Agha (n. 3 de abril de 1962, Karachi)[1] es una actriz y cantante británica de ascendencia pakistaní e india,[2] que interpretó temas musicales para películas de la India en la década de los años 1980 y principios de los años 1990. Su primera película titulada "Nikaah" dirigida por B.R. Chopra, fue ganadora del Premio Filmfare, nominada como la mejor actriz y cantante de playback para el cine Ghazal denominado "Dil Ke Armaan Aansuon Mein Beh Gaye".

Agha es hija de Pathan Nasreen (nacido como Zarina Ghaznavi) y Liaqat Gul tayiko.[3] Su padre le dio el título de Agha, ya que era un hombre de negocios reconocido, encargado de administrar el comercio de las piedras preciosas y artículos de antigüedades en Irán. Sus abuelos maternos de Salma, era el actor Jugal Kishore Mehra y actriz Anwari Begum, quien protagonizó su primera película titulada "Heer Ranjha" (1932). Su abuelo materno biológico de Salma fue actor, director musical y cantante Rafiq Ghaznavi.

Salma Agha (Urdu: سلما آغا; born 25 October 1956) is a British singer and actress who worked in Pakistani and Indian films in the 1980s and the early 1990s. She was born in Karachi and raised in London, where she received several film offers from Indian directors. Her first film was the romance Nikaah (1982), in which she starred as the female lead and also sang several of the film's songs herself. She was nominated for the Filmfare awards that year in both the Best Actress category and the Best Female Playback Singer category. It was for her singing that she won the Filmfare Best Female Playback Award. She is also known for her role in Kasam Paida Karne Wale Ki (1984) opposite Mithun Chakraborty, and for her song "Come Closer" from the same film.[1]
