Vida y carrera

Su padre, Bill Patton, era dramaturgo, instructor de actuación y dirección y además ministro luterano. Su madre se llamaba Jan Patton. Patton asistió para ser actor a la Escuela de Artes de Carolina del Norte. Además del teatro, también apareció en cine y televisión.

Aparte de haber participado en Armageddon (1998), Patton también trabajó en películas como Fled, Copycat y Entrapment. Entre 2011 y 2015 interpretó el papel del coronel Dan Weaver en la serie de TNT Falling Skies.

William Rankin Patton (born June 14, 1954) is an American actor and audiobook narrator. He starred as Colonel Dan Weaver in the TNT science fiction series Falling Skies. He also appeared in the films Remember the Titans, Armageddon, Gone in 60 Seconds, The Punisher, and Minari. He appeared opposite Kevin Costner in two films: No Way Out (1987) and The Postman (1997), as well as having a guest role in seasons 3 and 4 of Costner's Paramount series Yellowstone. He won two Obie Awards for best actor in Sam Shepard's play Fool for Love and the Public Theater production of What Did He See?
