Лорел и Харди — Стэн Лорел и Оливер Харди — британо-американские киноактёры, комики, одна из наиболее популярных комедийных пар в истории кино. Стэн был худым, а Оливер — полным. Их совместная работа началась в 1927 году, поначалу они снимались в немых, а затем в звуковых фильмах. Laurel und Hardy waren ein britisch-amerikanisches Komiker-Duo, das aus Stan Laurel und Oliver Hardy bestand. Um 1921 sowie zwischen 1926 und 1951 drehten sie zusammen 107 Filme (80 Kurzfilme, 27 Langfilme), Gastauftritte mit eingerechnet. Sie gelten als eines der berühmtesten und erfolgreichsten Film-Duos der Geschichte. Im deutschen Sprachraum sind Laurel und Hardy auch unter den Bezeichnungen Dick und Doof oder Stan & Ollie bekannt. In Kritik und Literatur wird von dem Duo oft als „die Jungs“ („the boys“) gesprochen.

Laurel and Hardy were a comedy duo act during the early Classical Hollywood era of American cinema, consisting of Englishman Stan Laurel (1890–1965) and American Oliver Hardy (1892–1957). Starting their career as a duo in the silent film era, they later successfully transitioned to "talkies". From the late 1920s to the mid-1950s, they were internationally famous for their slapstick comedy, with Laurel playing the clumsy, childlike friend to Hardy's pompous bully.[1][2] Their signature theme song, known as "The Cuckoo Song", "Ku-Ku", or "The Dance of the Cuckoos" (by Hollywood composer T. Marvin Hatley) was heard over their films' opening credits, and became as emblematic of them as their bowler hats.
