The character's voice was based on Red Skelton's rube character, Clem Kadiddlehopper.[3]
He also makes a cameo appearance in Toontown in the 1988 film Who Framed Roger Rabbit. He is seen walking with some of the other animals from The Tortoise and the Hare.
