Damir Salimov (Russian: Дамир Салимов; 19 July 1937 – 28 March 2019)[1] was an Uzbek film director who was credited with introducing animation to Uzbekistan in 1965, when he directed and produced the animated puppet film В квадрате 6х6. He was also a prominent figure in the development of hand-drawn animation in Uzbekistan in the 1970s.[2]

Дами́р Исмаи́лович Сали́мов (19 июля 1937, Самарканд — 28 марта 2019[2]) — советский узбекский режиссёр, сценарист, оператор[2] мультипликационных фильмов, режиссёр игрового кино. Член КПСС с 1964 года[3]. Лауреат Государственной премии Узбекистана имени Хамзы (1983).[4] Лауреат премии комсомола Ташкентской области.
