Joseph D. Sami and Jerald Arockiam, collectively known as J. D.–Jerry, are an Indian filmmaking duo in Tamil cinema.[3]

Their pair's first film as directors was Ullaasam (1997) which had Ajith Kumar and Vikram in the lead roles and produced by Amitabh Bachchan. Despite having a high-profile cast and production studio, the film became a failure at the box office. They have also directed Whistle (2003) and numerous Tamil television serials.[4] The duo have made an animation feature film "Pandavas" in 2005. The duo subsequently next worked as Production Designers to Shankar in Sivaji (2007), helping with story discussion.[5]
From 2004, the duo (J.D - JERRY) has made several television commercials, which is 500+ ads till date. They had worked with all the popular south Indian textile and jewellery brands. They have done documentaries(Nadhaswaram, Kalangari, Bronze Casting, Bommal aatam, etc.,) on various art forms of Tamil Nadu. They have also transformed serious literature (Short Stories of Sundhar Ramaswamy, Vanadhassan, Dhilip Kumar, M.B Venkatram and many more) into visual media.
In 2012, reports suggested that the directors would make a film with Dulquer Salman and Vikram Prabhu in the lead roles, but the venture did not materialise.[6] Jerry later went on to appear in a supporting role in Bala's Paradesi (2013), portraying an antagonistic character called Kangaani.
