Aapta Mitrulu (transl. Close Friends) is a 1963 Indian Telugu-language drama film, produced and directed by Kadaru Nagabhushanam under the Sri Raja Rajeswari Film Company banner. It stars N. T. Rama Rao, Krishna Kumari and Kanta Rao, with music composed by Ghantasala.

The film begins with two besties Prakash & Shekar. Shekar is a tycoon whereas Prakash is his employee. Prakash's sister Vimala endears Shekar. However, Shekar’s mother Kamalamma aspires rich alliance with her son. Once, Prakash is acquainted with a girl Kokila, the daughter of Kameswara Rao and they fall in love. Now, Kamalamma moves to Kameswara Rao with Shekar’s proposal. Being aware of Prakash's darlingness towards Kokila she begrudges. Meanwhile, in a business deal, Shekar brawls with a broker, and unfortunately, the broker dies. Here Prakash indicts himself on assurance Shekar to knit Vimala. Hence, Prakash is sentenced to 6 years. Next, Shekar secretly espouses Vimala and hoodwinks her after conceiving. Distressed, Vimala attempts suicide, but she is rescued by a benevolent, Ramayya, and she gives birth to a baby boy. Time passes, and Prakash acquits when Shekar leads him astray with the elopement of Vimala, and desperate, Prakash leaves the city. Ahead, Vimala activates herself as a music teacher, once a millionaire Dhanakoti, tries to molest her when Prakash safeguards her. At that time, he discovers the diabolic shade of Shekar. Parallelly, Shekar finds out Vimala & the child are alive. So, he ploys to assassinate them when furious Prakash seeks to slay Shekar, and Vimala hinders which reforms Shekar. At last, Kamalamma also says remorses Prakash & Vimala. Finally, the movie ends with the marriage of Prakash & Kokila and the soul-searching Shekar surrendering before the judiciary.
