Century of Birthing (Filipino: Siglo ng Pagluluwal) is a 2011 Filipino psychological drama film written and directed by Lav Diaz. The film premiered in Special Events of Horizon at the 68th Venice International Film Festival on September 9, 2011,[1] and it was release at the Cinemanila International Film Festival on November 17, 2011.

Premises

Lasting for more than six hours, the film explores two interconnected and unrelated stories about a grand meditation on the roles of the artist, the prophet and the acolyte;[2]

1. The first story focuses on Homer, a filmmaker who has spent years working on his film, but it was hounded by his friends and co-workers, Homer turns struggled to finish the whole film without promoting film festival.
2. The second story concentrates on a Christian cult in a rural region - a group composed largely of young women and dominated by its charismatic leader.
