Dosti Dushmani (transl. Friendship and Enmity) is a 1986 Indian Hindi-language action drama film, produced and directed by T. Rama Rao under the Srinath Productions banner.[1] It stars Jeetendra, Rajinikanth, Rishi Kapoor, Poonam Dhillon, Kimi Katkar, Bhanupriya in the pivotal roles[2] and music composed by Laxmikant–Pyarelal. The film was a remake of 1977 Tamil Film Chakravarthy which was also remade earlier in Telugu as Mugguru Mithrulu (1985) and later in Kannada as Brahma Vishnu Maheshwara (1988). It marked Bhanupriya's Bollywood film debut.[3]

The film begins with 3 childhood bosom friends Sandeep, Ranjith, & Prakash. Daga father of Ranjith is a gangster. In a swap, Ranjith hands over his father to Police. However, he absconds with his wife & daughter Rekha evading Ranjith and he too is fostered by Sandeep’s parents. Years roll by, the 3 mates grow along with their friendship. Sandeep becomes a renowned Doctor, Ranjith is a valiant Police Officer, and Prakash is a leading criminal lawyer. The 3 always have uphill battles with Daga who has to achieve the apex in crime and he is unbeknownst to Ranjith. Besides, Ranjith & Prakash are perturbed with hotheaded Sandeep against injustice. Then, annoyed Daga hurls his henchman who molests Ranjith’s pregnant wife Latha. Here Sandeep witnesses it and, in a rage, he wallops the blackguard. Further, he rescues Latha from suicide and takes a word from her to be quiet. Exploiting it, Daga kills the henchman and delates Sandeep. Thus, a rift arises between 3 as duty-bound Ranjith apprehends Sandeep and Prakash defends him. Since Sandeep is reluctant to affirm the actuality. Prakash counterfeits by forging a woman Rekha as Sandeep’s wife and acquits Sandeep which offends Ranjith. So, he makes several attempts to uncover the fact but fails. Meanwhile, Sandeep truly espouses Rekha. Prakash falls for a pickpocket Shanti a victim of Daga. Ongoing the situation gets harder Latha reveals the truth to Ranjith. Nevertheless, he wholeheartedly accepts her. At last, the three fuses and cease Daga when Ranjith & Rekha realize each is a sibling, and Daga is their father. Finally, the movie ends on a happy note with the soul mates proceeding on with their friendship.
