This is the story of a teenager Arunava Bose(Apu) who lacks the confidence in him to face the outer world, to showcase what talent he really has got in himself. Arunava along with his family lives in Kolkata. One day his cousin Durga comes from Delhi to live with them. She is charming and rebellious and hates the so-called societal hypocrisy. Durga comes like the 'Sharodatsav' or Durga Puja in Apu's life, its never lasting enough- the stay, the aura, the adoration, but leaves you at your best. Durga is lost in her own personal life, sorting her love life and deciphering the worth of her relations and commitments. Her family is at stake, her parents not having enough time for her ever. She quits taking her pills for depression, without anyone coming to know about this, until it is but too late. Apu unknowingly falls for her, in the sweet-sour bond of love, friendship, and promises. Apu tries to get her back to track, ensure her medications and checkups properly, but could not understand Durga well enough. By the time Apu could not even realize that Durga had become such integral a part of him, Durga leaves. Its the autumn bidding goodbye for bleak, cold winter to dawn in. Apu-Durga can never be complete without one another, as we have seen since 'Panther Panchali' times. Apu never can fill up the void within, the special place he had for Durga, not even knowing she meant that much to him.
