The film was a musical blockbuster with all the tracks composed by K. J. Joy becoming chartbusters. The song Kasthoori Maanmizhi sung by K. J. Yesudas is now considered to be an evergreen song. This was released after Jayan's untimely death earlier in the same year. Many of Jayan's dialogues in the movie had to be dubbed by mimicry artists.
