Nishaan (transl. Identification Mark) is a 1983 Indian Hindi-language action film, produced by B.S. Shaad under the BRAR Productions banner and directed by Surendra Mohan. It stars Jeetendra, Rajesh Khanna, Rekha, Poonam Dhillon in lead roles and has music composed by Rajesh Roshan. The movie was a hit upon its release.

Plot

The film begins on a royal dynasty Sooryavamshi which has a unique birthmark of Rising Sun on each of its heirs. During the present era, Raja Saab expels his son Kuwar Ratan Singh for marrying a destitute Lajvanthi. Time passes, and the couple is blessed with two sons Shankar & Ravi. On his death bed, Raja Saab repents and retrieves his son when the vicious Dewan conspires and slays the two by his henchmen Bhagal Singh. In concern for her husband, Lajvanthi approaches Dewan when she is denounced, and necked out. Moreover, the separation of children makes her lunatic. Years roll by, and Shankar becomes a truck driver whereas Ravi is reared by an ex-army officer. Ongoing they fall for two charming girls Gulaboo & Rita respectively. Fortunately, the sibling is acquainted and befriended. Destiny makes Ravi as Manager of Dewan where he is surprised to know that Rita is his daughter. Meanwhile, Shankar spots his mother in an insane state and admits her to the hospital. Besides, witnessing the enormities of Diwan Ravi starts a welfare association on behalf of the peasants, and raises funds. Then, he visits the city and meets Shankar when Diwan ploys, heists the amount and incriminates Shankar. Afterward, Gulaboo proves Shankar as guiltless and he moves to avenge Ravi when he too challenges him. In combat, they recognize and embrace. Learning about the unjust happened to their family they play a trick. At last, Shankar & Ravi prove their heritage by the birthmarks and bring out the brutality of Dewan. Finally, the movie ends on a happy note with the marriages of Shankar & Gulaboo and Ravi & Rita.
