In the wake of Silvia's decision to take her own life (and record her last thoughts in a video), she pledges her organs (heart, liver and eyes) to three strangers (respectively Carlos, Mateo and Inés), pulling them back away from the brink.[1][2]
A joint effort by production companies from Spain, Chile and Portugal,[3] the film was produced by Lorelei Producciones, Imval, El Medano, Calatambo Producciones and Cinemate in association with TVG.[1] Filming began in A Coruña in June 2002.[4]
The film screened at the 6th Málaga Film Festival's main competition in May 2003.[1] Distributed by Lolafilms,[1] the film was theatrically released in Spain on 18 July 2003.[3]
Jonathan Holland of Variety deemed the film (an "elegant meditation on sacrifice") to be "impressively scripted, well-played and thought-provoking".[1]
