The film was shot on location in New Orleans, and faced difficulties filming in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.[4][5]
Felix Vasquez at Cinema-Crazed.com gave the film a negative review. Vasquez was critical of how the original short story had been overstretched, saying, "There’s so much padding and filler here, you could cut it down to 50 minutes without missing much." Vasquez did praise the lead performance from Lang, but concluded, "it's just another goofy slasher film with a heavy emphasis on melodrama."[4]
The film was released on DVD and Blu-ray by Shout! Factory on their Scream Factory label on June 17, 2014.[6]
