Trama
New York: Alfred De Carter, direttore d'orchestra tornato da poco in città, viene convinto dal cognato che la moglie Daphne ha avuto una relazione extra-coniugale. Progetta quindi un piano per vendicarsi, compreso l'omicidio della consorte.
Colonna sonora
Nel film sono state inserite, tra l'altro, musiche di Gioachino Rossini, Richard Wagner e Pëtr Il'ič Čajkovskij.[1]
Distribuzione
Negli Stati Uniti, il film uscì nelle sale il 5 novembre (il 14 novembre in California) 1948.[2] In Italia, il film uscì invece solamente nel maggio del 1950.[2]
Remake
Del film è stato fatto un remake con lo stesso titolo (intitolato Un'adorabile infedele nella versione italiana) nel 1984, remake diretto da Howard Zieff e con protagonisti Dudley Moore, Nastassja Kinski ed Armand Assante.[3][4]

Unfaithfully Yours is a 1948 American screwball black comedy film written and directed by Preston Sturges, and starring Rex Harrison, Linda Darnell, Rudy Vallée and Barbara Lawrence. The film is about a jealous symphony conductor who imagines three different ways to deal with the supposed infidelity of his beautiful wife—murder, forbearance, and a suicidal game of Russian roulette—during a concert of three inspiring pieces of classical music. At home, his attempts to bring any of his fantasies to life swiftly devolve into farce—underscored with humorous adaptations of the relevant music. In the end, the truth comes out, and love triumphs.
