Trama

Zac Hobson, uno scienziato della Delenko Corporation, si risveglia una mattina e scopre che ogni traccia di vita è scomparsa. Si ritrova così improvvisamente ad essere l'unico abitante della Terra, passando dal panico all'orlo della follia; poi comprende che questo incredibile avvenimento è il risultato di un misterioso esperimento effettuato da lui stesso, il progetto «Flashlight».

Dopo aver incontrato Joanne prima, e poi Api, scampati anche loro all'estinzione perché in quell'attimo esatto stavano per morire, lo scienziato cerca un modo per destabilizzare la "griglia" creata con il progetto «Flashlight» con un autotreno di esplosivo nel laboratorio della Delenko Corporation...

Quiet Earth – Das letzte Experiment ist ein neuseeländischer Science-Fiction-Film aus dem Jahre 1985 von Geoff Murphy. Der Film basiert lose auf dem gleichnamigen Buch von Craig Harrison und wurde von Cinepro und Mr. Yellowbeard Productions Limited & Company produziert. Als andere Einflüsse für den Film wurden der Roman Ich bin Legende, die Spielfilme Dawn of the Dead und insbesondere Die Welt, das Fleisch und der Teufel aus dem Jahre 1959 genannt. Quiet Earth wird auch als inoffizielles Remake des letztgenannten Films bezeichnet.[2][3][4]

The Quiet Earth is a 1985 New Zealand post-apocalyptic science fiction film directed by Geoff Murphy and starring Bruno Lawrence, Alison Routledge and Peter Smith as three survivors of a cataclysmic disaster. It is loosely based on the 1981 science fiction novel of the same name by Craig Harrison.[2][3] Other sources of inspiration have been suggested: the 1954 novel I Am Legend, Dawn of the Dead, and especially the 1959 film The World, the Flesh and the Devil, of which it has been called an unofficial remake.[4][5][6][7][8]
