Ann Emelinda Masterman Skinn (1747 – 1789) was an English novelist.[1]
Ann Masterman was born in 1747, most likely in York, as she states it as her "native place" on the title page of her work, The Old Maid. Masterman died on 23 March 1789 in Margate, Kent. She died at the age of 41, in poverty.[2]
She is an author with only one known work, which is The Old Maid also known as The History of Miss Ravensworth.[3] It was published in 1770.
