Frank C. Matthews (born July 13, 1972) is an African-American writer of urban fiction. His works are influenced by Iceberg Slim and Donald Goines.

Biography


Author Frank Matthews is a native of Brooklyn, New York. Matthews categorizes his own work as "true fiction," fictional takes on factual events. Matthews self-published his first novel, Respect the Jux. Over 20,000 copies of the book were sold, leading to publisher Simon & Schuster releasing the book in September 2010.[1]

In September 2010, director F. Gary Gray (The Italian Job, Set It Off, Friday, Law Abiding Citizen) bought the TV and film rights to Respect The Jux.[2][3][4][5]
