Rogelio Sinán (born on Taboga Island in 1902; died in 1994) was the pseudonym of Panamanian writer Bernardo Domínguez Alba. He went to universities in Chile and Italy before becoming a consul to Calcutta. He has written plays, short stories and novels, but is best known for his poetry.[1] His work has been termed Avant-garde and he is a winner of the Premio Ricardo Miró.

Rogelio Sinán, seudónimo de Bernardo Domínguez Alba (Taboga, 25 de abril de 1902 - Panamá, 4 de octubre de 1994) fue un escritor vanguardista panameño. Inició sus estudios en el Colegio de La Salle y se graduó de bachiller en el Instituto Nacional de Panamá (1924). Realizó estudios universitarios en Chile, en donde conoció a los poetas Pablo Neruda y Gabriela Mistral. Siguiendo consejo de la poetisa, viaja a Italia a aprender italiano; fue allí donde profundizó en los -ismos (dadaísmo, surrealismo, creacionismo, ultrarealísmo, etc.) en boga en Europa en esa época y que serían la base de su obra posteriormente. En 1989, la Universidad de Panamá lo distinguió con el Doctorado Honoris Causa. Actualmente reposa en la Universidad Tecnológica de Panamá el Memorial Rogelio Sinán en honor a este célebre escritor panameño.[1]
