Painting the Clouds with Sunshine ist ein US-amerikanisches Filmmusical von David Butler aus dem Jahr 1951. Die Verfilmung basiert auf dem Musicalfilm Gold Diggers of Broadway von Roy Del Ruth aus dem Jahr 1929, welches von Avery Hopwood geschrieben wurde.[1]

Handlung

Die drei Las Vegas Showgirls Carol, Abby und June suchen die Liebe ihres Lebens. Dabei haben die drei unterschiedliche Meinungen von ihren zukünftigen Ehemännern.

Hintergrund

Der Film wurde von der Produktionsfirma Warner Bros. fertiggestellt und vertrieben. Das Musical wurde in Mono, bei einem Seitenverhältnis von 1,37:1 auf einem 35-mm-Film, aufgenommen. Außenaufnahmen entstanden in Las Vegas, weitere Aufnahmen wurden in den Warner Bros. Filmstudio in Burbank, Kalifornien durchgeführt.

Der Film feierte am 10. Oktober 1951 in New York City seine Premiere und wurde ab dem 10. Oktober in den Kinos ausgestrahlt.

Painting the Clouds with Sunshine is a Technicolor musical film released in 1951, directed by David Butler and starring Dennis Morgan and Virginia Mayo (whose singing voice was dubbed by Bonnie Lou Williams). The film is a musical adaptation of the 1919 play The Gold Diggers by Avery Hopwood. It is the fourth film adaptation of the play, after The Gold Diggers (1923), Gold Diggers of Broadway (1929) and Gold Diggers of 1933 (1933). The film is a jukebox musical, featuring popular songs from the 1910s to 1930s, including two songs from Gold Diggers of Broadway ("Painting the Clouds with Sunshine" and "Tiptoe Through the Tulips") and one song from Gold Diggers of 1933 ("We're in the Money").
