Finestkind is an upcoming American crime thriller drama film written and directed by Brian Helgeland and starring Ben Foster, Toby Wallace, Jenna Ortega and Tommy Lee Jones.[2][3][4][5]

Premise


The premise of the film was summarized in the local press stating: '“Finestkind” is a crime thriller set in New Bedford centered around two brothers played by Foster and Toby Wallace (“Babyteeth”) who were raised separately and are reunited as adults. Desperate circumstances cause the brothers to hatch a deal with a Boston crime syndicate, which spells danger for the brothers and their father (Jones) as well as a young woman (Jenna Ortega, “The Fallout, X”).'[6]

In 2018, Jake Gyllenhaal, Ansel Elgort and Zendaya were attached to star in the film.[12]

In April 2022, it was announced that Paramount+ acquired the rights to the film.[13][14]

Filming began in Massachusetts in April 2022.[15][16] That same month, it was announced that Tim Daly, Clayne Crawford, Aaron Stanford, Scotty Tovar and Lolita Davidovich have been added to the cast.[17] Meghan Leathers also joined the cast in April 2022.[8]

Filming wrapped in June 2022.[18]
