José María Forqué Galindo (8 March 1923 – 17 March 1995) was a Spanish screenwriter and film director.[1]

He was the father of the actress Verónica Forqué and the director Álvaro Forqué. He died on 17 March 1995 in Madrid at the age of 72 from a liver cancer.[2] He was cremated at Cementerio de la Almudena.[3] He was married to the actress and dramaturge Carmen Vázquez-Vigo, who died on 22 March 2018 at the age of 95.[4]
The José María Forqué Awards are named after him.[5]
