Rohit Dhawan (born 26 December 1983) is an Indian director and screenwriter of Hindi films.[1] Born to the Dhawan family, he is the elder son of renowned director David Dhawan.[2][3]

Personal life


He was born to director David Dhawan and Karuna Chopra on 26 December 1983 in Mumbai, Maharashtra. He is the elder brother of actor Varun Dhawan and nephew of Anil Dhawan and late Ashok Dhawan. His paternal cousin Siddharth is Anil's son, and maternal cousin is director Kunal Kohli (his maternal aunt Yash Kohli's son). He has a Filmmaking degree from New York University. He married entrepreneur Jaanvi Desai on 10 February 2012 in Goa after dating for 7 years. They were blessed with a daughter, Niyara, on 30 May 2018.[4] Their second child, a son was born on 4 May 2022.[5][6]
