Mulzim (transl.Accused) is a 1988 Hindi-language action film, produced by G. Hanumantha Rao under the Padmalaya Studios banner, presented by Krishna and directed by K. S. R. Das. It stars Jeetendra, Hema Malini, Shatrughan Sinha, Amrita Singh and Kimi Katkar in lead roles and music composed by Bappi Lahiri. The film is a remake of the Telugu-language movie Muddayi (1987).[1]

Plot


The film begins at the central jail where a feral prisoner Vijay Kumar is a recalcitrant and ruthless who is antagonized by Superintendent Sarada Devi. Ranjit Kumar is a malignant semblance as honorable with whom Vijay holds a rivalry. Inspector Neeraj Kumar a sheer cop who is always hard towards miscreants is denied by his friend advocate Mala. Since she believes they will be changed through solicitude. Hence, they challenge to reform a hardcore criminal when Sarada Devi makes her acquaintance with Vijay. Initially, he disregards her but later, understands her righteousness and narrates his story. Vijay is a virtuous person in a village who aims to contract a hospital for the poor with the aid of his fiancée Dr. Rekha and sanctions a land. Consequently, Ranjit intends to snatch it for his gain, thereby, a dispute arises. Then, Ranjit intrigues by killing Rekha and implicating Vijay. Mala reopens the case and acquits Vijay on parole with the assurance of Sarada Devi.

Immediately, he absconds to eliminate Ranjit, and Vijay is startled to see his sister Kamla as Ranjit’s wife and back. Afterward, Vijay learns that Ranjit knitted her to save himself from him. Now, Vijay is under the control of Sarada Devi where he gets closer to her daughter Pinky and runs a taxi. In tandem, Vijay & Mala fall in love. Besides, Ranjith conspires and heirs a goon Jagan divorced husband of Sarada Devi. Just then, he tries to molest Kamla and Vijay arrives at her rescue. Exploiting it, Ranjith slaughters Jagan which again charged Vijay and the court penalizes the death sentence. Here, Neeraj breaks out the reality but he is seized along with Mala and Kamla. Knowing it, Vijay breaks the bars and attacks Ranjit. At last, Sarada Devi slays out Ranjith and surrenders. Finally, the movie ends with Neeraj leaving his breath while guarding Vijay.
