Rajapart Rangadurai narrates the story about a poor theatre actor. It is a film on theatre actors who, through time have been ignored, they play all roles from mythology characters to patriotic people, but fail to appeal to modern viewers who are drawn to more glamour and glitter.
In the scenes where Rangadurai speaks Shakespearean English, Ganesan's voice was dubbed by Shakespeare Sundaram.[5]
The music was composed by M. S. Viswanathan, while the lyrics were written by Kannadasan.[6]
