Premise

Production

It was announced in June 2022 that Apple TV+ had ordered the series, with Katherine Jakeways set to write the adaptation, and Susanna White directing. Kristine Froseth, Alisha Boe, Josie Totah, Aubri Ibrag, Imogen Waterhouse and Mia Threapleton were cast as the titular Buccaneers.[1] In July, Christina Hendricks, Josh Dylan, Barney Fishwick, Guy Remmers and Matthew Broome were added to the cast.[2][3] Simone Kirby would join the cast in October.[4]

Production for the series began by July 2022 in Scotland, with Glasgow being used to also double as 1870s New York City.[5]
