La pellicola è il prequel delle storie di Alice e Peter Pan, immaginariamente dati per fratelli.[1][2]

Trama

Alice e Peter sono due fratelli che usano la loro immaginazione per allontanarsi dalla tragica realtà della propria famiglia: infatti, dopo aver perso il fratello maggiore in un incidente, i genitori vengono sopraffatti dalla disperazione. Così Alice e Peter fuggono dalla realtà per salvarsi, ed approdano rispettivamente nel Paese delle Meraviglie e sull'Isola che non c'è.

Produzione

Il progetto viene annunciato nel maggio 2016 insieme al nome della regista scelta, Brenda Chapman.[1]

Le riprese del film sono iniziate a Londra nell'agosto 2018[3] e sono terminate a Los Angeles nell'ottobre dello stesso anno.

Promozione

Il primo trailer del film viene diffuso il 9 ottobre 2020.[4]

Distribuzione

Il film è stato presentato al Sundance Film Festival 2020 il 24 gennaio[5] e distribuito nelle sale cinematografiche statunitensi, ed in contemporanea on demand,[4] a partire dal 13 novembre 2020.[6]

Critica

Sull'aggregatore Rotten Tomatoes il film riceve il 29% delle recensioni professionali positive con un voto medio di 4,9 su 10 basato su 69 critiche,[7] mentre su Metacritic ottiene un punteggio di 40 su 100 basato su 17 critiche.[8]
