Fish upon the Sky (Thai: ปลาบนฟ้า; RTGS: Pla Bon Fah, also known as "Fish from the Sky, Fish upon the Sky") is a 2021 Thai television series starring Phuwin Tangsakyuen (Phuwin), Naravit Lertratkosum (Pond), Trai Nimtawat (Neo) and Thanawin Teeraphosukarn (Louis). The series is based on the novel of the same name created and written by JittiRain, whose also behind the hit novel-turned-series Theory of Love and 2gether: The Series (with its respective sequels Still 2gether and 2gether: The Movie)

Directed by Sakon Wongsinwiset (Golf) and produced by GMMTV, the series is one of sixteen television series of GMMTV's offering for 2021 during their "GMMTV 2021: The New Decade Begins" event on 3 December 2020.[1][2][3] The series premiered on GMM 25 and LINE TV on 9 April 2021,[4] airing on Fridays at 20:30 ICT and 22:30 ICT, respectively. It replaced the timeslot of A Tale of Thousand Stars on GMM25[5] The series concluded on 25 June 2021 and replaced by the rerun of 2gether: The Series and its sequel Still 2gether on its timeslot on GMM25. The series had an rerun from 25 September 2021 to 22 October 2021 every Fridays to Sundays at 8:30 pm on GMM25 replacing the rerun of its predecessor A Tale of Thousand Stars' timeslot. The rerun concluded on 22 October 2021 and replaced by the new series Bad Buddy Series on its Friday timeslot and the rerun of I'm Tee, Me Too on its Saturday and Sunday timeslot on GMM25.

Summary

Pi is a nerdy, second-year dental student who secretly has a crush on Muang Nan: a kind-hearted, handsome, second-year pharmacy student. Together with Nan's warm personality, Pi's looks and confidence are not enough, and he feels helpless. After consulting his older brother, Duean, on what he could do better, Pi decides to change himself. With the help of Duean and his friends, Pi gets a makeover to transform into a handsome, stylish boy with enough courage to woo Muang Nan. When Pi finally has enough courage to approach his crush, he meets his love rival, Mork: a popular medicine student who is always on Muang Nan's side.

Pi tries everything to surpass Mork and gain Nan's attention, but is not lucky enough to beat him. However, everything starts to change as Pi begins experiencing different feelings for Mork, further complicating the situation. Will he continue to try to show his feelings to Nan? Or will an in-denial love begin to blossom with Mork? [6]

• Phuwin Tangsakyuen (Phuwin) as Pattawee "Pi" Panichapun - A nerdy and lousy second-year dentistry student. He is introverted, un-sporty, focused on his studies, and anti-social. He doesn't care about his appearance, and has thick glasses and braces that are the cause of bullying. Due to his desire to win Muang Nan over, he changes his appearance to be more attractive and fit for his crush. He will later deny his feelings for Mork, until an event occurs that leads to him suddenly accepting the feelings.
• Naravit Lertratkosum (Pond) as Sutthaya "Mork" Nithikornkul - A hot, cool, and handsome second-year medicine student who constantly likes to tease Pi to get his attention. He is Muang Nan's best friend, and has a longtime secret crush on Pi. It is later revealed that he is "A Guy from the Nearby Faculty", an anonymous Facebook account Pi messages and confides in. Due to this, he becomes Pi's love interest.
• Trai Nimtawat (Neo) as Dollawee "Duean" Panichapun - A sharp-tongued and tight-lipped fifth-year engineering student. The leader of the "Kitty Gang", Pi's second older brother, and later, Meen's love interest.
• Thanawin Teeraphosukarn (Louis) as Sittha "Meen" Nithikornkul - An innocent and cute first-year medicine student, Mork's younger brother, and later, Duean's love interest.[7]

A year before present events, Pi was being teased and bullied for being less attractive than his older brother. On Valentine's Day, after the event held at the university, he meets Muang Nan, who offers him an umbrella and a walk to the bus stop. He develops instant, "love at first sight" feelings for Nan, and begins following him everywhere. He notices that Mork is always wherever Nan is, and assuming that the other also has feelings for the boy, Pi considers Mork a love rival. In an attempt to befriend Pi, Mork offers to take a photo of Nan and Pi together, but when Pi posted it, it reaped criticism of his looks. Due to this, Pi began to despise Mork, and decided he needed to change his overall look. Meanwhile, Duean will meet Meen in the life skills class he was forced to retake in order to graduate.
2	"The Kitty Gang and Pi, The Guy on Fire // Haunted Dreams"	16 April 2021 (2021-04-16)
Pi meets the Kitty Gang at the mall where they give him a makeover. While at the mall, Pi also sees Mork, who attempts to apologize for the photo incident, but it is not accepted. The next day, Mork sees Pi in his transformed state while they pass each other on the bus. Pi attempts to run to Nan's faculty to beat Mork there, but faints from heat exhaustion, and Mork subsequently helps him. Duean and Meen meet together to do their first group assignment.
3	"Oh My Gross // The Dangerous Water Bottle"	23 April 2021 (2021-04-23)
Upon Duean's advice that Pi invite Muang Nan to a singles' event, Pi makes his first move in trying to secure a date with the other. Nan rejects at first, saying he is not sure if he will be free on the day of the event, but eventually agrees to go. In an intoxicated state, Pi accidentally kisses Mork at the event. Additionally, Pi's classmates discuss a conspiracy story involving one of the labs being haunted by spirits who will grant you a wish if certain circumstances are met. Pi went to the lab late at night and encounters Mork. Meanwhile, Duean accidentally gives Meen's water bottle to a street seller, and later seeks out the child to return the bottle to the latter.
4	"Building a Ship // Left or Right"	30 April 2021 (2021-04-30)
After the events of the night before, Pi believed he kissed Mueang Nan, until Duean showed him a photo of him kissing Mork. Afterwards, a fandom was created: #MorkPi. The fanpage masters, Kluea Kang and Prik Pao, posted several photos of Mork and Pi on social media, making Pi uncomfortable. Meen mentioned to Duean that there was a fifth-year student who was a part of their class, wondering how someone could fail the easy subject. After some time passes, Pi, Duean, and the gang develop a plan to get Nan's attention away from Mork and onto Pi, but it becomes an epic fail.
5	"Sailing the Ship // Love or Lie"	7 May 2021 (2021-05-07)
After the incident at the cinema, Pi drove Mork home. Duean, meanwhile, continues to pretend to be a first-year dentistry student throughout his village trip with Meen for their group project. Wanting to stick to the lie, Duean takes Pi's lab coat on the trip. Additionally, Pi is able to convince the fanpage masters to stop following him and Mork.
6	"Getting a Vaccine // Deadly Mosquitos"	14 May 2021 (2021-05-14)
Pi insists that he doesn't have any feelings for Mork, but even he isn't convinced. In a bigger attempt to further distract himself from his heart's newfound desires, he makes a bold decision to confess to Nan, who gently rejects him, stating that he should reevaluate who he actually has feelings for. Mork comforts Pi, and later on cares for him and takes him home when he passed out from the alcohol. After Pi returns home, he finds his mother with the book he kept a photo of Nan in, immediately leaving when she begins questioning his behavior. While crying in the rain, Mork sees Pi and comforts him. Meanwhile, Meen searches the name printed on Duean's lab gown.
7	"Complications // No More Gown"	21 May 2021 (2021-05-21)
Following the rejection from Muang Nan, Pi spends the night drinking and spending time with Mork. They become closer, but Nan's earlier words and Pi's comfort around Mork begin to scare him, and he becomes defensive and steps back from the friendship. At the same time, Pi and Duean's eldest brother, Wan, visits home to introduce his partner, causing a family misunderstanding. That night, Pi asked Wan for advice about his feelings for both Nan and Mork, and later decided he would talk to Mork about something. Meanwhile, Meen remains confused about Duean's true identity, causing the pair to argue.
8	"Social Distancing // Withdrawal Symptoms"	28 May 2021 (2021-05-28)
Pi and Mork face off in a competition at the university, and backstage, Pi insists on winning over Nan despite Mork's continued confessions. Their conversation is caught on camera and broadcast to the auditorium, which only furthers Pi's embarrassment. After the rejection from Pi, Mork is lost on what to do, and does an interview with the fanpage masters to try to get his attention once more. This only serves to make Pi angry, and he tells Mork to stay away from him, but can't seem to stop thinking about him when he actually does it. In the meantime, Duean finds himself missing Meen with the latter still avoiding him.
9	"Placebo Effect // Start Again"	4 June 2021 (2021-06-04)
Mork's friend Bam pretends to be his girlfriend to make Pi jealous and it works, but he fights back by inviting Muang Nan out. In the competitive tension of the cafe, Nan reveals to Pi that Mork is "A Guy From Nearby Faculty", making him more confused. Mork later explains the situation and reveals his longtime crush on Pi. Meen tells Duean that he knows about the lie, and they decide to start over and get to know each other's real selves.
10	"Probation // The Sweet Lucky Draw"	11 June 2021 (2021-06-11)
Duean and his friends help bring people to Meen's booth for the MediZeed festival. Mork explains the origin of his feelings for Pi, and Pi asks for some time to think. Later on, Pi opens up and proposes a dating probation where he asks that they keep their relationship a secret. Although not completely happy with the terms, Mork accepts, and the relationship becomes official with a kiss. Shortly thereafter, Duean comes home, and Mork has to hide. Duean scolds Mork when he sees him, and Pi awkwardly joins in to not seem suspicious. The couple continue supporting each other while at the university, but Duean soon finds out that they're secretly dating.
11	"Paranoia // Changed but Still the Same"	18 June 2021 (2021-06-18)
Pi continues to go to extreme lengths to hide his relationship with Mork from his friends. While at the bar with Duean and the gang, Pi texts Mork and tells him not to come inside or make his presence known, and Mork eventually goes home. Duean leaves to meet with Meen at his house, where he sees Mork and immediately begins arguing with him. Meen eventually stopped the fight, explaining that Mork was his older brother. Mork and Duean discuss their respective feelings for Pi and Meen. While dealing with the backlash from the MorkBam fandom, Pi takes out his frustration on Mork, and learns he cannot face him and their relationship until he faces his inner demons. Duean celebrates the passing grade with Meen and the gang, trying to coerce Meen into drinking, which leads to an argument.
12	"Fish upon the Sky // From Bad Luck to Beautiful Love (Finale)"	25 June 2021 (2021-06-25)
Pi decides to go to Mork's birthday party with intentions to reveal their relationship. However, old photos of him were shown to everyone at the party, and Pi only had Mork to blame. Later on, Bam's guilt bubbles over and she confesses to leaking the photos, and explains her jealousy over Mork. With her help, Mork and Pi are able to reconcile. Pi heads to another part of campus for a love confession surprise, ending with a kiss and Mork asking him to be his boyfriend. After Meen's performance in the Snow White play, Duean confesses his feelings and is delighted to know they are reciprocated. Two years go by, and the two couples are happily living life.

Virtual live fan meeting

On 3 August 2021, months after the series ended, GMMTV announced on its social media platforms[10] that the series will have its first live virtual fan meeting entitled "Fish upon the Sky Live Fan Meeting: A Sky Full of Fish" wherein, the main characters (Phuwin Tangsakyuen, Naravit Lertratkosum (Pond), Trai Nimtawat (Neo), Thanawin Teeraphosukarn (Louis) and Sahaphap Wongratch (Mix)) are part of the said event. It occurred on 4 September 2021.[11][12]
