The Windshield Wiper is a 2021 Spanish-American computer-cel adult animated short film directed and co-produced by Alberto Mielgo alongside [1] Leo Sánchez. The film won the award for Best Animated Short Film at the 94th Academy Awards.[2][3]

The film had its premiere during the Cannes Film Festival[4] 2021 at the Directors' Fortnight and release on The Animation Showcase a private industry streaming platform.


Plot


Inside a cafe while smoking a whole pack of cigarettes, a man poses an ambitious question: "What is Love?". A collection of vignettes and situations will lead the man to the desired conclusion.[5][6]

El limpiaparabrisas (The Windshield Wiper) es una película cortometraje de animación hispano-estadounidense, del año 2021, dirigida y coproducida por Alberto Mielgo,[1] junto a Leo Sánchez. El cortometraje se estrenó durante el Festival de Cine de Cannes de 2021,[2] en la Quincena de Realizadores, y ganó el premio al mejor cortometraje de animación en la 94.ª edición de los Premios de la Academia, siendo el primer cortometraje español que obtiene este galardón.[3]
